He sees ahead of us

_”Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad. But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee. Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended. Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice” (Matthew 26:31-34)._

*Message:* Jesus was telling the disciples of what was going to happened to them when He is arrested. He said the disciples were going to fall. One of the reasons for this immediate fallen away of the disciples might be to show them ahead how important the presence of Jesus Christ is to their spiritual sustenance. The Lord Jesus Christ was showing them and warning them ahead about this. Peter on hearing this said among others that he was not going to fall away even when others fall by the time the Master will be no longer with them. The Lord had to reaffirm to Peter in a precise way how he was going to fall away because of Him. This indeed happened later as Peter denied His Master Jesus Christ thrice after the Lord was arrested. What could have been responsible for Peter’s denials of His Master? Think of this:

  1. God is Omniscient and as well Omnipotent, He sees ahead of us and whatever He says comes to pass.
  2. Walking successfully with God is by the grace of God and not by our own power, Peter put confidence on Himself rather than God, which was responsible for His falling thrice.

3. Today is another day to trust in God for deeper walk with Him and grace to stand strong in the midst of challenges. God bless you.
